Liberty in Confidence

Confidence is something I have struggled with for sometime, the lack of it. I think it’s something we as humans struggle with over time, some people spend a lifetime building it. That’s what worried me the most that it may take me a lifetime to put it together, because I know for a fact that it’s through being daring, being confident, even a little stupid at times that I will get the most out of life.

Ever noticed, you could be soaring high, and a lot of people will be aiming at you, trying to knock you down but the main hit that takes you down eventually always comes from you, nobody else but you. It could be engineered by some one else but it’s always executed by you. Simply because you have no faith in yourself, imagine that, even you’re not good enough for you.Living for the world, that’s what most of us do, consciously or unconsciously but we do live for the world. Trying to gain acceptance, trying to be good enough. Even when we dress up and look in the mirror, first thought is always “what will the world see when they look at me?” When the real question should be, “what do I see when I look at me?” Because the truth is that’s what really matters. The rest of the world doesn’t give a hoot, they might for a second or two but they really don’t care, they have things going on too. So pay no mind to nobody but you.

Confidence, I found it, took time to build it and it’s a beautiful thing. Gives you power beyond measure. Gives you the will to look past all the daggers coming for you, because they don’t matter anyway the only dagger that can take you down is yours. As John Legend says “Perfect imperfections”, it’s the quirks that make you stand out, that distinguish you, if you were perfect you wouldn’t be interesting. Draw power from what makes you weak in the eyes of others.

I find that there is liberty in confidence, it sets you free, you stop worrying about things that don’t matter. Your heart is finally at peace knowing that you don’t have to prove yourself to nobody but you.

“Confidence comes not from always being RIGHT, but from not fearing to be WRONG.”

Peter T. Mcintyre

“Don’t let the noise of others opinions drown out your inner voice.”

Steve Jobs
